Dutch Lady Milky Milk


Super busy these months and I foresee the upcoming months would be no way better until somewhere in June 2017, maybe I’ll be better with my time accompanying the kids more. HR practitioner will know this period of the year is usually the peak for us.

Apart from ensuring smooth daily operational HR related matters, we have annual reviews, additional festive pay run, bonuses, year-end tax submission for preceding year, disciplinary issues and lotsa preparation for the company’s upcoming annual CNY gathering.

All these are to be completed within deadlines for the group of businesses which presently consists of about 250 headcount. Not forgetting the several upcoming expansion projects for a few new brands and concepts. 

HR has an important role with these too. As we need to know at our fingertips, where to hire people, what to look out for and the timeline to start getting them in.

Do have good people to assist me on all the above. But being their HOD, my role is to provide pointers, guidance, deadlines reminders and of cos knowing where we are at already (our shortfall from our target with the given deadline) along the way.

In Oct’2016, I have 3 `HR personnel resigned from my team, all in the same month. It was a stressful period that made me ponder a lot. Like, am I too hard on them? Did I display good example when I emphasize certain standards? Well, I always think maybe I could be changed for the better.

Always emphasize to my team members,

‘Nothing should lapses in our hands. There has to be on going progressing stage for every task given. Because we are like law enforcers in the group. And most importantly, whatever we do, there must be righteousness, integrity and a heart of taking ownership responsibilities”

Told them, there is no need to tell me much about obstacles they met if there isn’t any proactive/initiatives displayed. As in, there is no preventive/corrections ideas/actions from them/done during critical times.

Reasons being, I am keen to know what decisions/actions were made by them during critical time.

Critical thinking in short.

This is very important and will be beneficial to them even if they are not working under me next time. And such cannot be taught by individual nor be learnt in studies.


If one has a lot to explain about the difficulties they are facing just to justify the incomplete tasks which were delegated to them, but without telling me their initiatives/actions in targeting the issues is as good as asking me they would like me to take the tasks back and do it myself.  

For example: Conversation between a subordinate to her superior when a delegated task is not completed within the given deadline;

·       Subordinate to superior, returning the paperwork to superior and said: 
      “Just now I have called the candidate but he didn’t pick up the phone”

·       Subordinate pre-empt superior before deadline: 
      “Update you first, I have tried to call the candidate several times but in vain as he is not picking up calls. I will call him again late afternoon followed with an email getting him to confirm the appointment tomorrow. Will keep you informed soon.

See the difference?

One ex colleague who resigned from my team told me this, “It’s such a simple thing, why can’t you do it on your own?” (Call a candidate for 2nd interview appointment)

Look at him calmly replied, “Ok… Then tell me why do I need you for?”

Immediately he became all agitated and told me he want to resign. Told him sure, since there isn’t any result shown for the period he has been here as required of in his scope (which is recruitment, scope consists of calling candidates of cos). 

Told him he may request for the required notice to be waived if he want to and I’ll gladly approve that. I have great passion to train inexperience staff but zero tolerance for insubordination. Know the scope inside out. There is no need to threaten me with resignation. So I approved his request for notice to be waived.

In my field, I can/t afford to miss out any details. Because that would means delay in other people issues. 

Thankful that my HR team is progressing good although 2 of them are still considered pretty new to the team. Still most information given to me are highly classified, hence still gotta see to them myself regardless of how good my delegation skills is. Lols.

Really need to delegate not because I am lazy to do most by myself. If I were to do those works all by myself then I will be letting my pay master down. Because he pay me to oversee, guide and train each and everyone in the team to know what and how to do (automatically) even in my absence.

No one is indispensable and that includes me. If one day my team members can see to every single issue including conducting of due inquires and disciplinary matters and I am no longer required. Then I would proudly say, “YES! FINALLY, I’VE MADE IT!” Hun…. This I must take credits liao. Lolols

Part of my job is to see growth and progression in people. But scheduling of my time has to be very, very meticulously planned.

At this time, At this point you might think “Wah…. Ah Pearl is powerful in work…….” Not really… I am still falling short… personally… Family….😔

Been staying till pretty late in the office the past months even on Saturdays. Nah, not complaining about having to work so much. But in actual fact I do have a strong sense of accomplishment especially when the scope I take charge of, is taking off good.  

Just feeling a little physically tired… Ah Bong has been telling me I am not spending enough quality time with them. Yurou has been grumbling of me not bringing her to many places her friends has been telling her, not listening when she tried to talk to me, not playing with her etc.😢

And many times, my head hurts after digesting lotsa of data and figures in front of the computer. Well, I am also still learning. To another level of being efficient and effective in work at the same time striking a good balance between work and family.😉


Here we are doing things we love like…. Taking photos and have fun at the same time having good stuff for free! 😂😂😂

After I bought and paid for them, then my engagement manager told me the brand will be delivering some samples to me for a sponsored post, I was so happy at the same time sad… Told hub, “Walao… Should the news come earlier I don’t need pay mah…. They will give me wor….” 😆😅😖


DOO SEE. No bluff you lah…. I could have save a little hor? Hahahaa! No lah…. Actually no matter how many they give me is never enough. Lolols. Cos too many die-hard fans in the family already. There are 2 more orders of the rest in other pages…
Hahaha I usually do the family purchases online and on my way to work. Productive like this. 

Really love the 125ml packaging for kids! So thoughtful lah….. We mothers know they can’t finish the normal packet of drink most of the time and either we adults got to finish the remaining for them or to throw them away. It’s so wasteful…. So when that happens, most of the time I’ll just finish them. THAT EXPLAIN MY SIZE.😣🤔

So, this is so good! And it looks so cute when they are holding something small compatible to their size! 😄😍

Another reason of why the milk from Dutch Lady is my choice for them because of the nutrients in it!
They are good supplement to their meals and can be a nutritious snack for the in-between hunger pangs for kids above 3 years old! Cos got Calcium, Vitamin A, Vitamin D3, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B12 etc.!😲

Honestly I don’t know why and what are these vitamin good for, but I got google for help. Then the results I’ve obtained makes me “BUY!”😂

Eh. But one thing to note hun. This is suitable for kids above 3 years old ok. Yuxuan has few more months to go before turning 3.

That day before I bring them out to the playground, Yurou secretly told Aini to bring a pack for her. She told Aini, later she thirsty  can drink.😃

But right outside the house she pester Aini to open the pack for her. Lols. Knew it. She cannot tolerate the temptation after the playground trip one.
